Introducing a brand new scale by HARIO: The POLARIS Scale

This smart scale is designed to weigh coffee, calculate extraction ratios and assist in parsing out pours, and display your brew’s progress. 

The handy ratio calculation function helps you determine the perfect recipe for the amount of coffee beans you have to brew and clearly displays the specifications on the digital screen.

The scale accurately calculates the amount of water used per pour and assists you in achieving those volumes in real time. The percentage of your brew completed is shown on screen.

Here is an example of how it works.  If you use 20g of ground coffee and you select an extraction ratio of 1:15, the total amount of hot water suggested and displayed will be 300g. The screen will show "Current amount of hot water (g) ÷ Total amount of hot water (g) x 100 = Current ratio (%)".

① Extraction Ratio

Dialing in your recipe and not sure where to begin?

●For a stronger/ more concentrated brew:

Press the + and - buttons to set a smaller value (for example 1:1~14).

●For a lighter, more delicate brew that accentuates clear and concise flavors:

Press the + and - buttons to set a bigger value (for example 1:15~30).

② Water Volume (g)

This is the amount of hot water the scale is recommending for your brew (in grams), based on the extraction ratio you selected. It is automatically calculated based on the weight of ground coffee beans you are starting with.

③ Brewing Percentage

During your brew, you can follow and watch the percentage of water poured, based on the amount of coffee and the extraction ratio.

Press the TIME MODE button and it will light up when the timer is on standby.
